I wondered whether he would be home and awake when the baby was born, how would he react, would he be scared? I gave him credit for being the smart, intuitive kid that I know he is, but it was a lot to come to terms with... would he do it successfully?
I'm pleased to report the credit was due. Finlay was amazing through the birth of his baby brother and continues to shine as he steps into the role of big brother. Mom and Dad are adjusting to having two sons and learning to juggle (sometimes literally) their needs.
It's funny, this time around, the newborn is simple... his needs are obvious, easy to take care of... the toddler, it's a whole other story... we work every day to try and adapt to his moods which can swing between sweet and loving to angry and dangerous... and to remain understanding and loving ourselves. It's a daily, minute to minute, undertaking... stay tuned!
I've started this blog to keep family and friends up to date on the goings on in the Toner-Lilius clan. I'll get pictures up as often as I can, and try and provide an update or two when I have a moment.
Here are a few pics of Fin in the months leading up to Max's birth...
